On the solemn yet pride-filled occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, the town of Dadri in Gautam Buddh Nagar witnessed a deeply emotional and patriotic program in remembrance of India’s valiant soldiers who laid down their lives during the Kargil War of 1999. The event was marked by the lighting of a Masha’al (torch) – symbolizing the eternal flame of courage, sacrifice, and national pride.
This commemorative ceremony was organized in the heart of Dadri, where Bharatiya Janata Party's District President, Shri Abhishek Sharma, along with senior party workers, local residents, and youth from across the region gathered in unity to pay homage to the Kargil martyrs.
The event began with patriotic slogans echoing in the air:
“Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Indian Army Amar Rahe”, setting a heartfelt tone of gratitude and pride. The torch was lit to symbolize the light of sacrifice and patriotism that continues to guide the nation. It was not just a tribute but a collective commitment to uphold the values of bravery and unity that our soldiers fought for.
In his address, Shri Abhishek Sharma spoke passionately about the Kargil War heroes and reminded everyone of the bravery displayed by Indian soldiers at high altitudes under harsh conditions. “This day reminds us of the grit, valor, and determination shown by our armed forces. We owe our peace and sovereignty to their sacrifice. It is our duty to ensure their memory never fades,” he said.
Local BJP leaders and social workers emphasized the need for today's youth to stay connected with such moments of national history. They urged young citizens to draw inspiration from the lives of our brave martyrs and take an active role in the nation’s progress and defense.
Many families of veterans, ex-servicemen, and martyrs were present during the event, and their stories added emotional depth to the tribute. The collective remembrance served as a powerful message of unity, inspiring everyone to put the nation first.
Cultural performances, patriotic poetry, and group singing of national songs added spirit to the evening, while the sight of hundreds of people standing with candles and torches created a moving visual tribute to our fallen heroes.
Such programs not only strengthen the bond between the armed forces and civilians but also revive a sense of national duty and pride in the hearts of all.
As the event concluded, chants of “Vande Mataram” and “Bharatiya Janata Party Zindabad” reverberated throughout the gathering. It was a night of pride, reflection, and renewed commitment to the ideals of nationalism.
May the memories of our Kargil heroes live forever, and may their sacrifice always guide our path.
Jai Hind!
